Evan Boyd

General Manager/Assistant Regional Manager, Recology San Mateo County

Evan Boyd is an accomplished senior operations executive with over 20 years of experience leading organizations in the waste and recycling, consumer product manufacturing, and aerospace and automotive manufacturing industries.

Evan is currently the General Manager of Recology San Mateo County and Assistant Region Manager for Recology’s South Group, which includes 6 operating companies, 3 compost facilities, a transfer station, and a public recycling center.

At Recology, Evan directs the day-to-day operations of the largest waste and recycling collection network in San Mateo County. Leading a dedicated workforce of over 250 employee-owners, who provide collection services to a population of over 460,000 San Mateo County residents, serving approximately 100,000 residential and 10,000 commercial customers that span most of San Mateo County.

Prior to joining Recology in February 2022, Evan spent 16 years with Republic Services serving in roles with increasing responsibility in both general and executive management positions. Most recently with Republic Services, Evan served as the Area Director of Operations where he was responsible for P&L performance, driving company initiatives, ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance, and providing oversight and operations support to Republic’s network of operations across California consisting of waste collection business units, material recovery facilities, compost facilities, transfer stations and landfills.
Evan brings a unique perspective to his executive operations experience, after having the opportunity to serve as Public Works Director for the City of Redwood City, from 2010 – 2011.

Evan is dedicated to community service and has served on various community organizations throughout San Mateo County. He served on the Board of Directors for the Chamber San Mateo County, Belmont Chamber of Commerce, and the Daly City-Colma Chamber of Commerce. Evan also served as Vice President and Director of the Supporters of Doelger Senior Center in Daly City, and Director and Treasurer of the North Peninsula Food Pantry and Dining Center.

Evan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, from Chapman University in Orange, CA. He was a three-time member of the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence and was a team captain for the Chapman University Football team.
