Jim Massey Awarded 2015 Person of the Year Award

Jim Massey, Realtor with Keller Williams, Awarded Person of the Year Award

For over 40 years, the Chamber’s highest award, sometimes called the Chairman’s Award, has been presented to recognize those who, more than anyone else, made the greatest impact on the success of a Chairman’s year. Key considerations for this prestigious award include enthusiasm for the organization, willingness to accept multiple roles/tasks, accomplishments in many phases of the Chamber’s programs and commitment and dedication to the success of their assignments. Jim Massey has exemplified all of these and more.

Jim Massey is a realtor with Keller Williams Realty, Inc., the world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count, with approximately 700 offices and more than 110,000 associates in more than a dozen countries around the world.

Jim has been a member of the Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber for over 15 years. Since 2001, Jim has served on the Board of Directors for the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. He has been an active member of the Ambassadors and Business and Governmental Relations Committees since 2004. As an Ambassador, Jim has always maintained enthusiasm for the overall organization, regularly attending Chamber Ribbon Cuttings and Mixers while preaching Chamber membership benefits to prospective members. At the 2009 Chamber Annual Awards Dinner, he was awarded one of the Ambassador of the Year Awards.

Jim lives in Atherton with his lovely wife Judy but has always been a champion of the Redwood City San Mateo County Chamber. He is always there to support the overall success of the Chamber whether it means he’s signing up a new member, attending a Chamber event, or schlepping salami on the putting green with his pal Gino. He takes his volunteerism for this organization seriously and when he says he’ll be there to help, he’s there.

Jim serves on the “Birdies for Business” Golf Tournament Committee, the Kainos Benefit Golf Tournament Committee, and can always be counted on to attend any one of the Chamber events, despite the location. Jim has consistently attended the Chamber’s Annual Progress Seminar and has successfully encouraged the local electeds from his hometown to attend understanding the value for them.

Jim and Judy are the proud parents of two very busy and successful adult children, one of who, his daughter Erin, is a 2008 graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Program; once again, a perfect example of how Jim sees the value and refers his family to Chamber Programs. He is also a proud grandfather.

If you know Jim, you understand that when it comes to politics, he has his strong opinions. We’ve come to expect and appreciate that from Jim, as his opinions encourage folks to see the issues from different perspectives. While politics tend to spark Jim’s passionate side, we at the Chamber know he really is one of the most reliable and caring people you will ever meet. The Chamber community has also come to expect and appreciate Jim’s presence at Chamber events, knowing that when he’s there, he’s there to push up his sleeves and lend a hand.

Congratulations Jim, on being selected Chamber Person of the Year for 2015.
