Press Release: Redwood City, CA – The Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Google for Supporting Education with the Chamber’s “Golden Apple Award”
Google will receive the Chamber’s 2017 Golden Apple Award in recognition of ongoing corporate and foundation support for local Redwood City public schools, the educational non-profit work of the Redwood City Education Foundation, and their early support of the countywide “Big Lift” early childhood education initiative.
The Chamber’s Golden Apple Award was started 22 years ago by its Education Committee under the chairmanship of former Assembly Member and County Supervisor Rich Gordon. This award was created to recognize the impact that business makes on the educational community through their generosity and commitment to local public schools, non-profits, and other education-focused programs.
“Google exemplifies what it means to be a Golden Apple Award Recipient and they join past honorees in demonstrating the power of what our local business community can accomplish when they form great partnerships with our schools,” states Redwood City -San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Amy Buckmaster.
The Golden Apple Award will be awarded at the Chamber’s 120th Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Pullman San Francisco Bay Hotel in Redwood Shores.
