Auggie Torres is a Public Policy Manager on the State & Local Policy team at Meta. Auggie oversees all local policy engagement in Burlingame, Fremont, and Sunnyvale, CA. Along with being a member of the Board of Directors for Chamber SMC, Auggie is also Meta’s representative on the Board of Directors for the Burlingame-SFO Chamber and Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce. He also leads education initiatives in East Palo Alto and Menlo Park. He represents Meta as a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group’s Education and Workforce Development Committee, where is the current co-chair. During the summer, Auggie manages the Meta Summer Academy, which is a 6 week summer career exploration program designed for rising High School Juniors who reside in Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, and Redwood City, CA.
Outside of work, Auggie does a lot of philanthropic work. He is a Board Member of the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership and an Advisory Board Member of the Foundation for a College Education. Auggie graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s in Management, followed by a Master’s in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He lives in Cupertino, CA with his family.
